New Streets - Moravcových and Strnadových

5th September 2018 - The names of the two new streets in the Tulipa City project - Strnadových and Moravcových commemorate the heroism of the families that helped the paratroopers who were involved in Operation Anthropoid.

In May new street name signs in red were installed together with blue information boards presenting some facts about both of the families. In their time the Moravec family was the backbone of the resistance organisation. The Strnad family came from nearby Libeň and due to their participation in the resistance movement they were executed.

The official unveiling took place on May 23, 2018; exactly 76 years from the day when at a spot close to these new streets Gabčík and Kubiš were planning the assassination which they carried out four days later.
